Kindergarten Enrichment Assistant Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Kindergarten Enrichment Assistant Teacher at A Child’s Place you will be instrumental in helping young children explore, discover and navigate the world around them. ACP is seeking two (2) experienced, nurturing and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to plan and implement activities that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to their group of children each day. A Child’s Place offers school-year programs for Kindergarten through 5th grade within all ten (10) elementary schools of the Downingtown Area School District.

LOCATION

• Pickering Valley Elementary
• Brandywine Wallace Elementary

SHIFTS (3 different shifts available)

• Monday – Friday | 10:00a – 6:00p (40 hrs/wk)
• Monday – Friday | 11:30a – 6:00p (32.5 hrs/wk)
• School Year | Aug – June *In accordance with DASD school calendar
• Day Off Programs – Shifts available on select days when the school district is closed

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher with kindergarten students
• Implement planned lessons and follow curriculum scope and sequence set forth by KE Teacher
• Assist KE Teacher in classroom management and behavior management
• Assist KE Teacher for lunch/recess duties
• Communicate with KE Teacher, School Secretary and Program Director
• Occasionally sub for KE Teacher when needed
• Plan and implement activities / schedule / routine for the Before or Aftercare Program based on Before and Aftercare Curriculum (Grades K-4)

DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• Friendly, welcoming, and energetic
• Organized, reliable, and responsible
• High School Diploma
• 2+ years experience working with children (preferred)
• PA State Background Clearances to work with children (or a willingness to obtain them)
• Physical & TB Test (or a willingness to obtain them)

Pay: $14.50 – $16.50 per hour
