Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher at A Child’s Place you will be instrumental in helping young children explore, discover and navigate the world around them. ACP is seeking an experienced, nurturing and enthusiastic Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher to plan and implement activities that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to their group of children each day. A Child’s Place offers school-year programs for Kindergarten through 4th grade within all five (5) elementary schools of the Tredyffrin-Easttown Area School District.

  • Beaumont Elementary
SHIFTS (3 different shifts available)
  • Full-Time | 40 hours per week
  • 8:30a – 4:30p Monday through Friday
  • School Year | Aug – June *In accordance with TESD school calendar
  • Day Off Programs – Shifts available on select days when the school district is closed
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans to match those of the district’s Kindergarten curriculum
  • Create relationships with district employees
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies/procedures to maintain order among children
  • Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, and social development 2 times per year
  • Instruct children individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet varying needs and interests
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
  • Confer with parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators to resolve behavioral and academic difficulties
  • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development
  • Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor/outdoor spaces to facilitate an effective learning environment
  • Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants
  • Complete appropriate paperwork
  • Take ownership of the program by coaching, while responding to minor, immediate issues that arise
  • Communicate with ACP staff, Field Manager and Program Director about program happenings and needs
  • When needs arise, step into the Before/After Care program to support other teachers
  • Be available to work at least half of the Day Off Programs
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings with purpose of receiving and conveying information related to the program
  • Monitor groups of students in a variety of settings with intent to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Interact with and engage the children in a positive manner
  • Provide constant, supportive, and professional communication with staff, parents, and children
DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Friendly, welcoming, and energetic
  • Organized, reliable, and responsible
  • BA or MA in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Special Education (Required)
  • Teaching Certificate (Preferred)
  • One year child development work experience in a school/ childcare setting
  • 2+ years experience working with children (preferred)
  • PA State Background Clearances to work with children (or a willingness to obtain them)
  • Physical & TB Test (or a willingness to obtain them)
