Preschool Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Preschool Teacher at A Child’s Place you will be instrumental in helping young children explore, discover and navigate the world around them. ACP is seeking an experienced, nurturing and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement activities that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to their group of children each day. A Child’s Place offers year round programs for infants through Pre-K.

SHIFT

• Part Time (17.5 hours per week)
• 2:00p – 5:30p Monday through Friday
• Year-Round (12- Month)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the supervision and daily classroom functions of a group of children.
• Adhere to regulations of the Department of Human Services and ACP policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Preschool Teaching staff to plan approved lessons and activities to keep children engage and foster social, emotional, physical and mental growth that align with the ACP Curriculum.
• Build a partnership with the parents and families of the children in your care.
• Assist in the care and cleanliness of the classroom and common areas of the center.
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers and management team.
• Promote positive work environment.
• Maintain professional personal appearance, personnel file and professional development plan, adhering to the guidelines with ACP Employee Handbook.
• Attend required staff meetings and complete necessary trainings.
• Assists in other capacities as needed by Director or Assistant Director.

DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma *required
• CDA, Associates, BA in ECE or Human Services Field preferred
• Two years of documented experience working with children specifically with ages 1-3
• Ability to obtain all childcare clearances and additional information for childcare compliance.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds in connection with handling children for child safety and emergency situations.
• Friendly, nurturing and professional demeanor. Ability to be conform to a schedule with reliability and dependability.
