School-Aged Program Assistant Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a School-Aged Program Field Support at A Child’s Place you will be instrumental in supporting our school-aged before and afterschool program. ACP is seeking an experience, nurturing and enthusiastic Assistant Director to assist the school-aged program director in day to day operations of the program. A Child’s Place offers school-year programs for Kindergarten through 5th grade within all eleven (11) elementary schools of the West Chester Area School District.

LOCATION
  • Must be able and willing to reliably commute to all 11 elementary schools within the West Chester Area School District
SHIFTS
  • Full Time | 30 Hours per week
  • 12 month position
  • School Year: 6:45a – 9:00a and 2:45p – 6:00p Monday thru Friday *Required with flexible mid-day hours
  • Summers (Jun-Aug): 6-8 Hour shifts Monday through Friday
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work alongside program director in supporting the before and aftercare staff, students and programs
  • Substitute as a before or aftercare teacher as and where needed
  • Act as a communication liaison between director, staff, school district staff and parents
  • Assist in ensuring all before and aftercare programs are operating smoothly.
  • Assist in problem solving and generating creative ideas to help staff and students improve their overall experience in the program
  • Prepare and train new staff members for their role as a before and aftercare teacher including day to day operations of the program, staff expectations, and technology for student check in/check out
  • Deliver and organize student/staff supplies in ACP lockers and ensure our spaces are well kept by our staff
  • Orchestrate and execute day off programs on days when school is closed, but the program remains open for care
  • Orchestrate and execute summer camp program from June – Aug
  • Assist program director as needed with occasional office tasks

  • High School Diploma *Required
  • Associates or higher in Elementary Education or a related field *Preferred
  • 2+ years experience working with children *Required
  • PA State Background Clearances to work with children (or a willingness to obtain them)
  • Physical & TB Test (or a willingness to obtain them)
  • All other required documentation required to work in a DHS Licensed Childcare facility
