JOB DETAILS

  • Part Time | 28.75 Hours per week
  • Shifts | 6:15a – 9:00a and 3:00p – 6:00p
    Must be able to and willing to work both AM and PM shifts, Monday through Friday

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Child’s Place – Coatesville  School-Aged Program is seeking one (1) Traveling Before and After School Teacher who will be responsible for the assisting in the day to day operations of our Before and After School programs across the district. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with our established teams of teachers. Traveling Teachers move between the 5 elementary school before and after school programs based on enrollment and staffing. Traveling Teachers are responsible for filling in for other teachers who may be absent, assisting in programs where enrollment/attendance calls for another staff member, or stepping into the program on behalf of the director.

The ideal candidate would be flexible and adaptable and comfortable moving between different schools. Traveling Teachers are not typically asked to change schools mid-shift unless absolutely necessary. Traveling assistants are in constant communication with the program director so they know where there are reporting and when.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel amongst Coatesville’s 5 Elementary schools to assist in the supervision and care of our enrolled students.
  • Report to a Before and After School Program every day at the instruction of the Program Director.
  • Take direction from program director and maintain open communication regarding issues within the programs, parent concerns, staff concerns
  • Assist staff in implementing the day’s schedule/routine and attendance tracking
  • Assist program staff with implementing lesson plans geared toward student interest at their site
  • Communicate effectively and in a professional manner with families, ACP staff, and ACP management.
  • Assist in maintaining ratios and proper active supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least High School Diploma -or- GED *Required
  • At least 2 years (2,500 hrs) of documented verifiable experience working with children *Required
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background/clearance checks
  • Maintain an employee file in accordance with DHS and ACP regulations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | Must have the ability to:

  • Lift up to 40lbs
  • Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping
  • Climb up and down stairs
  • Have mobility required to ensure the safety of the children
  • Work with children on the floor
  • Work outdoors in any variety of weather
  • Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements
  • Perform light duty cleaning
  • Light typing and word processing

SALARY RANGE:

  • $17.00 – $18.00/Hr

Starting rate is contingent upon proof of education credentials and verified experience working with children.
