Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher

Job Details:

  • Full Time | 40 hours per week
  • 7:30a – 4:30p, Monday through Friday
  • *School Year Only

Position Summary:

A Child’s Place Tredyffrin-Easttown School-Aged Program is seeking one Lead Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher who will be responsible for the supervision and care of our school-aged children. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with our assistants and before school / after school team. Our Kindergarten Enrichment Teachers work to promote the social, emotional, academic, and physical growth of our students. They are also responsible for building positive, professional relationships with our parents and families to support open and continuous communication. The ideal Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher would be comfortable taking a leadership role with our Kindergarten Enrichment program by designing and implementing age appropriate lessons based on a provided curriculum as well as implementing age appropriate classroom management. This person would also be comfortable providing leadership and support to our before and after school team to ensure these programs are operating smoothly and cohesively.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise groups of students in a variety of settings with intent to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Interact with and engage the children in a positive manner
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans to match those of the district’s Kindergarten curriculum
  • Take ownership of the program by coaching, while responding to minor, immediate issues that arise
  • Create relationships with school district employees in the building in which you work
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies/procedures to maintain order among children
  • Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, and social development 2 times per year
  • Instruct children individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet varying needs and interests
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to use, explore, and manipulate
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
  • Confer with parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators to resolve behavioral and academic difficulties
  • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development
  • Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor/outdoor spaces to facilitate an effective learning environment
  • Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork in a timely, neatly, and accurate manner
  • Communicate with ACP staff, Assistant Director and Program Director about program happenings and needs
  • When needs arise, step into the Before/After Care program to support other teachers
  • Be available to work at least half of the scheduled Day Off Programs
  • Provide constant, supportive, and professional communication with co-workers, parents, and children
  • Conform to an established and consistent work schedule
  • All other tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 18 or older *Required
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or a Human Services related field*Required
  • 3 years of documentable experience working with children *Required
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background/clearance checks.
  • Maintain an employee file in accordance with DHS and ACP regulations.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
  • Climb up and down stairs.
  • Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children.
  • Work with children on the floor.
  • Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
  • Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements.
  • Perform light duty cleaning.
  • Light typing and word processing

Salary:

  • $18.00 – $19.00 Starting

Starting rate is contingent upon qualifications and experience provided.
