Position Summary:

A Child’s Place Early Learning Center is seeking a full-time, on-site, Lead Preschool Teacher who will be responsible for the supervision and care of our young children ages 3-4 years. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Preschool team. Our Preschool teachers work to promote the social, emotional, academic, and physical growth of our students. All of our classroom teachers and assistants are also responsible for building positive, professional relationships with our parents and families to support open and continuous communication.

The ideal lead teacher would be comfortable working alongside other Preschool staff, conforming to an established schedule and routine, and participating in the facilitation of the day to day tasks including serve lunch, bathroom, circle time, centers, and independent activities. Ideally this individual would also have experience planning and implementing age appropriate activities based on a prepared curriculum as well as designing and utilizing age appropriate classroom management.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise group of Preschool in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, group or individual activities, playground activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
• Design an environment that responds to the children’s individual developmental levels and interests
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, sing-a-longs, and storytelling
• Ensure that parents receive adequate information about their child’s experiences at the center through daily contacts, reports, and photograph
• Provide constant, supportive and professional communication with coworkers, parents, and children

Required Qualifications:

• 18 or older *Required
• High School Diploma or GED *Required
• 2 years (2,500 hrs) of verifiable experience working with children *Required
• 1 year of verifiable experience as a Lead or Assistant Teacher in an Early Learning/Elementary education setting *Preferred
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or a related field *Preferred
• Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background/clearance checks.
• Maintain an employee file in accordance with DHS and ACP regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
• Climb up and down stairs.
• Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children.
• Work with children on the floor.
• Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
• Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements.
• Perform light duty cleaning.
• Light typing and word processing

Salary:

• $17.00-20.00/hr

Starting rate is contingent upon qualifications and experience provided.
